Common Questions Answered For a Smooth Move

What days do you perform moves?

Although our office hours are limited to Monday to Friday, 9 to 5, we perform moves 7 days a week. 


What are your prices?

We charge by the hour. We do take into account your inventory list, the distance between your locations, and the number of crew members needed for your move. 


Do you have an hourly minimum?

Our hourly minimum is 2 hours, after that its prorated every 15 minutes so you only ever pay for actual time.


How far in advance should I schedule my move?

That can be a tough one. The simple is answer is as far in advance as possible, especially if you foresee any restraints or caveats. The summer is especially busy so the sooner the better. There are no deposits needed or cancellation fees. In addition, we will always do our best to make adjustments or perform any last minute requests. 


What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, cashier’s checks, and money orders.  


Do you require a deposit?

Nope! No deposit required. However, we do appreciate as much notice as possible if things change and you need to cancel your move. At that point we can always reschedule your move or it also gives us an opportunity to make your original date and time available to another customer. 


What size moves can you accommodate?

All kinds but primarily local within the state of Illinois. We perform residential, office, commercial moves. Whether it’s just a few items or 4 plus bedroom home, we’ll get it done.


What areas do you service?

The Chicagoland area and neighboring suburbs. 


What is a standard tip for my movers?

Tipping is optional and at your discretion.


What happens if something gets damaged during my move?

While damages are rare, given the nature of the industry they can occur. We will do our best to repair any damages but you can always report a damage claim by contacting your move coordinator and we will take care of it.


Do you provide equipment for my move?

Always. Our moving truck are equipped with dollies, moving blankets, and wardrobe boxes. 


What if my move takes less or more time than the estimate?

After the 2 hour minimum, your move is prorated every 15 minutes so you only pay for the actual time the move takes. The estimate is just an estimate and can vary from final move based on the furniture actually moved, distances and layout of the buildings, and traffic or unforeseen circumstances.  We try to estimate on the high end to be safe but unfortunately moving is not an exact science. 


Can I help during the move?

The best way you can help is to be as prepared as possible ahead of the move date. While you’re more than welcome to help move small things here and there, our crews have a flow. So for the sake of efficiency as well as your safety, its okay to relax on this one. 


What happens if I have more or less items than I included on the estimate?

If there are more or less items, the move will adjust accordingly. We do use your inventory to determine the size of the truck so if your inventory fluctuates extremely, let us know so we can adjust the estimate and/or truck size. 


Do you pack TVs?

Yes. TVs are fragile so we do require all TVs be boxed. If you don’t provide the TV box, the crew can make one. We charge $25.00 per TV box.


Do I need to pack lamps?

It is best for all fragile items like lamps to boxed up. The crew can help with packing, and if custom boxes are needed, additional fees may apply.


Will the movers take a lunch break?

The crew don’t typically take any breaks while on your move. They might grab something quick while heading over to your destination.


Can you move plants?

We definitely can, they however should not be watered ahead of your move date. Since there is really no way of protecting them while in transit, some clients prefer to move those ahead of time. Plant parents beware! 


What can’t the movers move?

We can't move anything deemed dangerous or a fire hazard, fire arms, gas tanks, open containers and cleaning supplies.  We want your items and our movers safe.


Can I leave my drawers full, and tape them shut? 

We do ask that all drawers be emptied for the safety of our crew and your furniture as the clothes and other items make the drawers heavier. 


Can the movers disassemble, reassemble, and wrap my furniture? 

Yes. We do disassemble and reassemble the furniture, as needed. We also provide moving blankets on the day of the move for same day use.The crew will wrap all items, prior to loading the truck.


What is Shrink Wrap? 

We highly recommend wrapping any upholstered and leather items in shrink wrap, for better protection. We charge $10 per item wrapped. 


How do I get a Cashiers Check if I don’t know the total until the end of the move? 

We recommend getting a cashier’s check for the estimated amount just to be safe, and paying the difference in cash. If the move takes less time, we will issue a refund check for the difference. You will receive a receipt – BOL, upon completion of your move.



Do you offer storage?

Unfortunately not at this time. We can of course move you into and out of a storage facility of your choice. 


Can I cancel or reschedule my move after booking it? 

Yes! We do ask to be notified at least 72 hours ahead of time, to cancel or reschedule a move. There are no fees.
